Located on Washington Street it was built for Frank G. Webster, first director and chairman of the Trustees of the Canton Public Library and a founder of Stone and Webster the engineering firm that built and operated the Blue Hill Street Railway. In 1870 and was purchased by George Ivison Ross, M.D. in 1884 and it served as his home and office until 1914, the year of his death. Since that time it has served various other purposes; in the 1920s it served as the office of John Everett, Esq. It was also home to the Leo Strumski Insurance and Real Estate Agency and by the late 20th century was the location of the Dockray-Thomas Funeral Home.
