Canton Town Club1

Founded in 1939, as a men’s club under the leadership of Ed Howard and Bill Donavan, the organization first met at the Sherman School and later at Brooks Block before moving to it current location at the corner of Bailey and Pine Streets in 1953. The club became known for its athletic skill, especially in the area of football the flourished until 1959, a casualty of the broadcast of professional football. Since that time the Canton Town Club has continued to be an active entity in the community with an annual banquet for the Canton High Football Team, a scholarship fund, and hold various events throughout the year that range from a Las Vegas Night to an Annual Golf Tournament.
