St. John's School¹

St. John's School was established in September 1883 in order to accomodate the influx of school-aged children that St. John's Church experienced in the preceding years. During the early 1900s, the school's Sisters of Notre Dame were replaced by the Sisters of Saint Joseph, who built the convent that would later become St Clement School. In 1956, ground was broken by Archbishop Richard Cushing for the present-day school building, which would be twice the size of its predecessor. In 1985, the school switched over to single-grade classrooms.
